Levitating Books

Hales Corners Library

The Stakes are High

The Library Board wants a $5 million dollar edition to the library building. Dan Besson knows his residents are smart. Rather than blindly making a 20 year commitment, Dan Besson wanted to hear what the residents thought about this expenditure and sent out a survey to the community. If you would like to find out more information about this issue, as well as others, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Road Repair

Policy Change

Dan Besson visited voters door-to-door and heard calls by citizens to improve the Village road repair schedule and fix public roads faster. ABOUT

The Full Story

Hello Hales Corners Resident:)

I was born, raised and have lived my whole life in Hales Corners. I started my political involvement at the age of 33 when I was elected as a Village trustee. My father was very involved in politics on the  local level. Dad always told me, "If you don't like it, work to change it!"

I joined the Village Board, as a younger man, with a vision to improve Hales Corners and a plan for a better future. One of my first commitments to voters was writing a code of ethics, which proved to be one of the toughest codes in the State of Wisconsin. Next, I updated the policy and procedures manual for the Village. I spearheaded the drive to implement the tornado warning siren. I also authored and created the Village wide Safety Inspection Program. Through the years, I have served on almost every village committee including:

*Planning Commission                                                *Environmental/Ecology

*Board of Health                                                           *Personnel Negotiations

*Public Works                                                                *Library Board Liaison

*Multiple AdHoc Committees                                    *Recreation

*Finance                                                                          *Employee Handbook

*Safety Licensing & Ordinances                                 *Fourth of July

*Community Development Authority (CDA)

*Space Needs for Library, Fire Department & Village Hall

*Site Selection for the Present Fire Department Location

Leadership and communication skills are critical bringing about and implementing positive change, in our community. Over the years, there have been many changes in the Village. I'll continue to preserve our village identity and grow economically. We encompass only 3.2 square miles but great things come in small packages. We have all heard how visitors come here for our Fourth of July Celebration and feel like they have stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting. I am proud that we are a welcoming, heartwarming and giving community.

As we move forward, I want to continue to be your full-time Village President. A president who remembers our past and looks towards a better future for all residents. I have a plan and need your help in shaping our tomorrow.

Thank you for the privilege of letting me serve you!

Dan
